"I would like us to take ourselves and others seriously - but not all-too important. Would like us to stop making sense, ie. to courageously perfect our talents and personal vision - as individual, brand or corporation.

I would like us to value brilliance over instant gratification. Would like us not to look for distractions, but to find solutions. Would like us to stop surfing every fad we stumble upon.

I would like us to long for more knowledge than we need to - it's the only way to create innovation. Would like us to pose the right questions instead of knowing all the answers.

Independent Leadership Strategist.
Distinguished goal is to grow brands, managers & businesses into leadership positions - challenge & coach them to outgrow themselves (and let them inspire their world).

The Distinctive Leadership Consultancy focusses two competencies:
Talent & Change Management and Innovation & Value Creation.

Talent & Change Management (rsc // challenge & coach) co-develops with the client (manager, brand or corporation) a distinctive leadership culture in three simple, but quite challenging steps.
(The inspiration/leader blog (Twitter) supports top-management in general, while the mediaclinique (Twitter) supports media and consultancies specifically.)

Innovation & Value Creation (lead/marke) develops distinctive business models & brands, products & services, values & dialogs for brands & corporations, media & agencies, entrepreneurs & start up investors.

With 22+ years of professional experience (7+3 years as managing director and freelance interim manager) I combine relevant communication and brand know-how with profound leadership competence.

My experiences developed in diverse industries and categories: confectionery, detergent & softener, pet food, Pay TV, sports shoes and clothing, tooth- and oral care, shower and bath products, automobiles, TV stations, publishing houses, waters, juices and cola-containing beverages, etc.


Since 2010 the lead/marke website is online. Since October 2009 I am member of the editorial team at werbeblogger, a leading German communication blog.

From 2006 - 09 I was a member of the LeadAcademy online jury. From 2005 - 08 I have been a registered lecturer at the Zukunftsinstitut Academy, a German Future Think Tank.

2005 I founded ralf schwartz // distinctive leadership.

2004 - 05 I lectured 'Leadership Excellence' at the University of Furtwangen. For almost 5 years I published the mind-box magazine (double-crowned by 2 LeadAwards, Germany's most prestigious prize for print and online: Silver 2004 / Gold 2005).

2002 - 04 I have been Managing Director for MediaLogics, the German Competence Center of Publicis Groupe Media, now VivaKi.

1997 - 01 I have been at Carat / Aegis Media. Director Strategic Product Development for one year, three years Managing Director Carat Wiesbaden and one year Managing Director Carat Interactive (in those last years also member of the Carat Central European Executive Board).

1992 - 96 I headed the media department (myself) within the GlaxoSmithKline marketing (Dr. Best, Odol/med3, Duschdas, Cetebe, Abtei, et al.), and have been responsible for D-A-CH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

From the end of 1987 I worked for Grey/MediaCom and Young & Rubicam as media consultant.

I studied economics and specialized in marketing and strategic business planning.
